Job Overview

The IT Support Specialist position will work closely with cross functional partners in support of the company’s ongoing biogas utilization projects. This individual will be the first point of contact for end-user solutions, and they will provide server/network support. This key member of the Information Technology team will proactively research and recommend technology solutions, user training, software/hardware installations, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have fundamental helpdesk experience and an ambition to learn, with a customer service focus and a collaborative team spirit.  They will have the opportunity to be mentored by and learn from senior network and system administration. An ability to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively is of the utmost importance to this role.

The position is based on site at our corporate headquarters in Sisters, OR and will report to the IT & Network Lead.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage helpdesk ticketing and IT support workflow.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory.
  • Deploy, manage, and support IT solutions.
  • Perform network/server installation, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Administer hardware and software installation and configuration for customer locations.
  • Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as monitoring network performance and ensuring network connectivity. 
  • Accurately follow IT and regulatory standard operating procedures as required.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional support capabilities with other IT department functions.
  • Streamline existing technological processes and procedures.
  • Help define end user hardware strategy and processes.
  • Adhere to consistent and predictable in-person attendance.
  • Responsibilities may increase in scope to align with company initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory configuration and administration.
  • Administration of Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and related Microsoft 365 services.
  • Firm grasp of IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Excellent working knowledge of desktop computer systems, printers, conference room equipment and mobile devices.
  • Working knowledge of Windows servers, virtual infrastructure, and data storage systems.
  • Network firewalling, switching, and WIFI.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to IT and industry regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new IT-related technologies.
  • Communicates effectively and maintains productive relationships with coworkers, clients, and other contacts outside the company.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Multitasks and adjusts priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining focus and managing disruption and/or unexpected needs.
  • Accepts feedback from a variety of sources and constructively manages conflict.
  • Valid driver’s license for state of residence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Education and Experience 

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent IT-industry certification and/or experience.
  • A minimum of one year and preferably 2-3 years of helpdesk related experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds routinely, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to access equipment that requires crouching, bending, reaching overhead and climbing a ladder.
