Purpose of Position:
Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist.
The IT Support Specialist will provide on-site technical support for our Pittsburgh Office. The successful candidate will deliver Level 3 Windows desktop support and Level 2 networking support to end users, ensuring high availability of business systems and a positive end-user experience. This role serves as the primary technical point of contact for the Pittsburgh location and partners with the broader IT team for escalations and infrastructure projects.
This is an onsite, off-based role.
Accountabilities:
- Provide hands-on Level 3 Windows desktop and laptop support, including imaging, deployment, hardware troubleshooting, and OS-level issue resolution.
- Diagnose and resolve Level 2 network issues, including LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN, basic switch and access-point troubleshooting, and DNS/DHCP problems.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 / Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), and modern web browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox).
- Support and troubleshoot networked and local printers, including drivers, queues, and multifunction devices.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting for SAP client issues (connectivity, GUI installation, login, basic transaction errors); escalate functional or backend issues to the appropriate team.
- Manage user accounts, group memberships, and access in Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 in line with company policies.
- Document incidents, requests, and resolutions in the IT service management tool (FreshService); maintain accurate asset records.
- Support endpoint security tooling (antivirus/EDR, disk encryption) and assist with patching and software deployment.
- Coordinate with vendors and the central IT team on hardware replacements, warranty claims, and circuit/ISP issues.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to all employees, including executives and remote users.
- Participate in IT projects (rollouts, upgrades, migrations) as assigned
Minimum Skills Required:
Technical Skills
- Windows Support (Level 3): Advanced troubleshooting of Windows 10/11, including registry, Group Policy, profile issues, performance problems, and boot/recovery scenarios.
- Networking (Level 2): Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, and VPN; able to isolate issues between endpoint, LAN, and WAN.
- Microsoft 365 / Office: Strong troubleshooting experience with Outlook (including profiles, OST/PST, shared mailboxes), Teams, OneDrive, and the Office suite.
- Browsers: Comfortable diagnosing issues across Edge, Chrome, and Firefox (cache, certificates, extensions, proxy/SSO behavior).
- Printers: Hands-on experience supporting networked and local printers, including drivers, print servers, and MFP devices.
- SAP (basic): Working familiarity with SAP GUI installation, configuration, and end-user-side troubleshooting; no functional or ABAP knowledge required.
- Identity & Endpoint: Day-to-day experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and endpoint management tooling (e.g., Intune).
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Friendly, approachable, customer-service-oriented demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in ticket documentation.
- Able to work independently on-site with minimal day-to-day supervision while collaborating with a distributed IT team.
- Calm under pressure; able to prioritize when handling multiple concurrent issues.
Working Conditions
- On-site role at the Pittsburgh office; occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance windows or incident response.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs (workstations, printers, network equipment) and perform tasks under desks and in IT closets.
- Limited travel may be required to support nearby company sites.
Experience & Education
- 3-5+ years in an IT support / desktop support role, with at least 1-2 years performing Level 3 Windows support.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting users in a manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain environment.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms (FreshService preferred) and ITIL practices.
- Experience with mobile device support (iOS/Android) under MDM.
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
