About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Ironworker/Welder to join the team. This role involves fabrication, installation, and repair of structural and miscellaneous steel in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate is safety‑minded, reliable, and skilled in both ironwork and welding practices.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all work with a 100% safety mindset
Read and interpret project blueprints and specifications
Cut, fabricate, and repair structural and miscellaneous steel
Prepare and clean steel (remove rust, deteriorated segments, old bolts/rivets) using tools such as needle guns, rivet busters, and torches
Paint finished steel members using brushes or sprayers
Use pneumatic, electric, and hand tools (impact wrenches, drills, spud wrenches, etc.) for ironwork tasks
Work at heights up to 50+ feet on structures and scaffolds
Operate oxy‑acetylene torch for cutting steel members
Measure and align steel members to specifications
Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts per blueprints or supervisor instruction
Verify alignment of structural steel using plumb bobs, lasers, and levels
Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes or hoisting equipment
Temporarily align steel members for permanent bolting or welding
Fabricate temporary steel members (frames, columns, beams) as needed
Force steel members into final position using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools
Cut, bend, and grind steel using shears, torches, or grinders
Hold current welding certifications: 1G, 2G, 3G, & 4G
Assemble hoisting equipment or rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy steel members
Drive drift pins through holes to align steel members
Qualifications
Current welding certifications (1G–4G) required
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and installation
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Experience working at heights and with heavy equipment
Must provide personal job‑related tools (belts, bags, pins, spud wrenches, drift pins, welding hood, etc.)
Reliable attendance and adherence to company policies
Working Conditions
Work performed both on the ground and at heights (up to 50+ feet)
Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, dust, and weather extremes
Use of PPE and adherence to strict safety standards required
will need to be able to pass a stick welding test using 7018 on 1” beveled plate with backing strip in the vertical position
