Doing what is right for the Warfighter is reflected in everything we do. We have an opportunity for an Inventory Specialist to support our Program Security team at NAS Fallon, NV. This is a full-time, on-site position that will require an active DoD Top Secret clearance. 


The Inventory Specialist will be responsible building, maintaining, and managing inventory of controlled equipment and key items in multiple (secure) locations across the Naval installation. This position works under the Director of Training Systems and will support inventories maintained by the Special Security Office, Fleet Activities Office, and Computer Information Systems. 

  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting serial number-level inventories of incoming shipments of controlled items such as electronic equipment, safes, locks, and other items 
  • Obtaining approval from the cognizant security, IT, and engineering authorities prior to material being relocated. 
  • Maintaining a continuous regimen of checking spaces to ensure controlled items are accounted for, immediately reporting discrepancies to the appropriate person. 
  • Employing automated tools (e.g., bar code readers), or manually reading serial numbers, and accurately enter data into one or more inventory systems.
  • Conducting annual serial-number inventories. 
  • Uploading shipping documents: packing lists, bills of lading, etc. with annotations indicating the material was inventoried to 
  • Entering any controlled items in the shipped material into the material tracking system, making updates as needed when inventory is moved.
  • Ensuring received material is organized and appropriately labeled. 

Requirements

Education, Skills, and Experience: 

  • Working experience as a Security Assistant in SCI or SAR security environment is preferred. 
  • Experience in warehouse/logistics is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail is critical to the success of the individual in this role. 
  • Must be proactive and have a sense of pride and ownership in the work completed. 
  • Active forklift license is a plus. If not held, must be willing to obtain. 

Working Environment

  • Work will occasionally involve moving shipments on pallet jacks, moving and stacking large and heavy boxes within regulations, and inventorying items in locations of limited accessibility such as underneath desks.  Physical condition of the incumbent must not preclude this activity; individual should be able to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position will require U.S. citizenship with an SSBI favorably adjudicated for a TS/SCI clearance. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance. Individual must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Required clearances.
