Position Purpose 

Inventory Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all inventories are accurate by performing daily cycle counts, evaluating variances, report findings, and driving corrective actions for root-cause. Additionally, the Inventory Lead will focus on identifying opportunities for improvement/enhancements and drive end-to-end resolution. This position reports to the Inventory Supervisor and works closely with plant leadership and cross-functional groups. You are key personnel in the Physical Inventory group serving Warehousing, Operations, and Transportation to ensure inventory levels are optimized. 

1st Shift Inventory Lead Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinates and tracks group SAP EWM & IM cycle count procedures/processes to validate inventory adjustment activity. 

  • Perform daily cycle counts, ad hoc counts and physical inventory count audits as directed. 

  • Assist production in verifying material returns and excess reporting at the end of a run. 

  • Collaborate with the SAP team to validate material consumption and running material usage variance report to reconcile work in process inventory 

  • Monitor all aspect of material movements in storage and in transit locations 

  • Responsible for locating offsets, tracking root cause, and performing desktop SAP inventory adjustments 

  • Delivers SAP reports to PI management and communicates plant wide inventory corrective actions 

  • Works with plant process groups to resolve open purchase orders, deliveries, warehouse tasks, process orders and in transit materials 

  • Coordinates team and assists to remove expired and destruction materials/products 

  • Assists the Inventory supervisor and Quality team in mock recall events, inventory compliance 

  • Updates guides, work instructions and flow charts for exception handling processes 

  • Assists with system cleanup of all process areas to comply with Fiscal Month End activities 

  • Participates in CI initiatives, tracks, and updates CI board 

  • Group trainer and back up cycle counter 

Required Experience: 

  • Experience with inventory control and reconciliation counting processes 

  • One-year leading direct reports or peers 

  • Familiar working in manufacturing, warehouse, or production environments 

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Basic Excel Skills 

Preferred Qualification: 

  • Experience using SAP ERP; S/4 Hanna/ECC, IM, EWM inventory processes 

  • Familiar with OSHA standards and SOX compliance 

  • Proficient in cycle counting an advanced inventory control processes 

  • Basic Microsoft PowerPoint skills 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Self-starter with strong analytical skills  

Working Conditions: 

  • Food manufacturing plant, warehousing, Freezer condition and office environment 

  • Interfacing with various manufacturing equipment and office computer equipment

  • Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. We also go through an in-depth Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training on your first day and continue to share safety tips daily 

  • Surroundings. You’ll be working around different machines – Schubert’s, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and chocolate candy banks/steels. 

  • Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs/ladders, and routinely lift 50 lbs. 

  • Temperature. You will be comfortable year-round with our climate-controlled environment. Our temperatures are consistently around 63°F but could fluctuate depending on your specific role. 

  • Smell. You will enjoy a variety of deliciously sweet aromas and you may end your day smelling like chocolate! 

  • Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for food safety, personal safety and in guidance with our good manufacturing practices (GMP). Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required. Leather, imitation leather, rubber boots or shoes must be worn in the kitchen and other areas when working around hot liquid/product or hot water.
