Inventory Control Specialist

1.0 Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory within an ERP system to maintain data accuracy, resolve inventory location and process-state issues, and support production and planning needs. This position also assists shipping and receiving by preparing documentation and providing direction for outbound shipments.

2.0 Job Duties

  • Maintain monthly inventory spreadsheets and report settlements for all tolling suppliers to the Commercial team or as requested.
  • Complete job cards to process and/or consolidate lots.
  • Create and maintain buyover records while ensuring inventory data remains accurate.
  • Print and distribute inventory labels throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Ensure inventory lots remain together through each step of the production process.
  • Monitor discrepant job cards and provide feedback regarding inventory discrepancies.
  • Identify and investigate inventory stock losses and gains during processing.
  • Ensure accurate weights are recorded following each process step.
  • Execute inventory consolidations, re-grading, and buyovers within the ERP system and take ownership of these processes.
  • Complete bills of lading and shipment packets, including required certification documentation.
  • Submit shipment documentation for approval and provide completed packets to the Shipping Department.
  • Facilitate and reconcile cycle counts.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory activities.
  • Provide support to production, planning, shipping, and receiving teams as needed.

3.0 Qualifications & Competencies

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of inventory control experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Dynamics 365, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to complete tasks quickly, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to provide clear instructions and communicate effectively with others.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.

4.0 Supervisory Responsibility

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities.

5.0 Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office within a manufacturing facility. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The employee will also spend considerable time within the manufacturing facility and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and other typical manufacturing environments.
