Job Overview:

 

Inventory Analyst

Relationships

  • Reports to the Planning Coordinator
  • No supervisory responsibility
  • Interacts & communicates with personnel from material planning, production management, product management, logistics management, managerial accounting and team leaders

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Maintain work order closure for all work in process production orders
  • Monitor SAP reporting to make appropriate adjustments to inventory
  • Support operations and logistics team in the disposition scrap from all work in process production orders
  • Manage & react to Excess & Obsolete reporting
  • Maintain Work Order closure & inventory alignment for all planned work centers
  • Monitor & correct all IDOC & COGI errors
  • Maintain & make inventory recommendations biannually from Overstock/Shelfwarmer Report
  • Balancing stock between SAP and LMS
  • Monitor & drive resolution of SAP work order processing errors & exception messages
  • End of Month, Auto Supply-Q Location and GRPP Inventory clean up

Education

  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • 4-year degree in a related field is preferred
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred
  • Equivalent training & experience can be substituted

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience of inventory planning in a medium sized industrial manufacturing company is preferred
  • Hands-on SAP ERP systems with SAP/APO experience preferred
  • Data management & analytical analysis experience a plus

Knowledge

  • Planning techniques, BOM structures & shop floor control
  • Inventory flow & concepts in a manufacturing environment
  • Business processes & production scheduling have on the organization
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing Control systems, shop planning procedures & physical plant layout & constraints
  • SAP M/M & P/P ERP modules

Foundation Skills

  • Effective oral & written communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Analyzing/reporting data to identify issues, trends or exceptions used to improve results
  • Managing data using appropriate analysis & validation techniques
  • Ability to deal with constantly changing deadlines & project parameters in a fast-paced, continuous process manufacturing operation
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Taking a systematic approach to solving problems by analyzing all relevant facts/issues before determining the root cause
  • Detail-oriented & well-organized
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Ability to access, retrieve, & analyze data using MS Excel, Access or business objects as provided
  • Inspecting/evaluating the quality of work produced
  • Meet tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy & attention to detail
