Job Overview:

Job Summary

The Easton Coherent SiC Quality team ensures the accuracy and reliability of measurements used to control manufacturing processes for silicon carbide (SiC) wafers. These measurements are critical to maintaining product quality across our global semiconductor operations.

As a Metrology Alignment Program Quality Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in semiconductor manufacturing and statistical analysis. You will support efforts to evaluate and improve measurement systems, working closely with engineers and technicians to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GRR) studies to assess measurement system performance 
  • Analyze data using JMP statistical software 
  • Collect, track, and distribute samples for testing and evaluation 
  • Perform measurements on key quality metrics for SiC wafer products 
  • Document findings and contribute to technical reports 
  • Present results and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives 

Education & Experience

Education:

  • Rising senior (completed 3 years) or recent graduate (within 1 year) 
  • Major in engineering, science, or statistics 
    • Must include a combination of technical field and statistics coursework 

Experience:

  • Familiarity with JMP or Minitab preferred
  • Strong skills in Excel and data analysis

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment 
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, technical setting 

Internship Details

  • Duration: 10–14 weeks 
  • Location: On-site in Easton, PA 
  • Work environment includes office and cleanroom settings

Working Conditions

  • This role will be based on-site in Easton, PA
  • Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
  • Ability to work in our cleanrooms

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.
  • Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.
  • Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.
  •  Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
