Job Description

As a Shift Process Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment or processes in your assigned area. You will work cross-functionally with the team members specializing in operations, equipment, and other areas and collaborate with support groups to drive continuous improvement.

Shift process technicians address issues that detract from Fab operations, including containment, documentation, and communication of non-standard events. Shift duties include performing control plans, evaluating equipment health, resolving defect-related issues, and supporting other areas of the operation to ensure quality, efficiency, and output goals are met.

Roles and Responsibilities.

  • Investigation of multiple qual fails
  • Ensure equipment are logged in the correct state.
  • Identify long term fixes for chronic SPC or disposition failures.
  • Timely response and execution of tasks related to tool alarms and process deviations.
  • Escalate long term issues to Equip team.
  • Identify inefficiencies with throughput of WIP.
  • Ensure that CPM and PMQ is followed per area business processes and procedures.
  • Timely response to equipment faults that place product at jeopardy.
  • Efficient management of area TW.
  • Strong collaboration with engineers to correct out of spec (SPC) tools
  • Understand and actively use PCA to troubleshoot tool issues, post repair & post PM (preventive maintenance) work.
  • Work with shift engineers to find root cause of RDA flags through DTS
  • Correctly and accurately commenting SPC Charts.
  • Efficient and effective DL1 monitoring. Identifying of potential excursion threats equipment and working with equipment team to proactively address.
  • Work with engineering to create BKMs for reacting to product and/or inline qualification fails or trends.

Minimum Education/Experience for all Technician Positions

  • Be open and flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in data extraction, analysis, and reporting
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of semiconductor equipment and processes.
  • Basic understanding and accurate application of statistical process control principles
  • Understanding of mathematical concepts and problem solving, at least to an algebraic level
  • Fundamental understanding of physics and chemistry concepts and principles
