Job Overview:

Intern – Electrical Engineering

Hypertherm Engineers think outside the box and bring new ideas to life. As a design/build company, our Engineers are hands-on and focused on continuous improvement, helping to make industrial cutting more accurate, cost-effective, and safe for our customers.

Position Overview

Join us this summer as a Electrical Engineering Intern and collaborate with exceptional colleagues who will support your learning and skill development. In this role, you will be responsible for creating an IoT meter reading system from start to finish. This project will involve installing devices on a CNC machine, developing APIs, and working closely with external programmers. Build lasting relationships with your fellow interns as you engage in fun and rewarding activities throughout the summer.

Some of the project opportunities for Engineering Interns this summer:

  • Design/build/test an IOT based Maintenance Schedule
  • Install Devise Vise on CNCs
  • Work with outside Programmers together

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical or Software engineering-focused Bachelor degree program
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Completion of a minimum of 2 years of a college degree program (you are currently enrolled in) and are in good standing
  • Enthusiastic about learning with the ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently on selected projects
  • Experience building software using JavaScript, C# (.NET), Python, Ruby, or other high-level programming language
