Job Overview:

Applied Composites (AC) is seeking an Intern, Industrial Engineering.  This is a student or a recent graduate undergoing on-the-job supervised training in preparation for a desired career.  The individual performs a variety of tasks that provide engineering support to different company functional areas.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Provides engineering support for manufacturing, testing, and design engineering groups
  • Assist with the Continuous improvement team on lean initiatives
  • Take detailed measurements, create layout plans, and recommend manufacturing infrastructure projects
  • Develop process mapping exercises to identify pain points and opportunities in specific areas throughout the facility
  • Assist in the facilitation and report out data and presentations for events.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required: preferred 20 hours per week during quarter/semester, full-time during summer


 Job Specifications:
 
Education:  
A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of schooling pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical or structural engineering
Years Experience:  0-2 years of relevant work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
 Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize changing situations
  • Experience or background with composite materials is a plus
  • Experience with CREO, CATIA, or similar solid modeling software
  • Experience with FEMAP, NASTRAN, or other similar finite element analysis software
  • Understanding of structural mechanics and performing hand calculations for structural analysis verification
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
