General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Integration Technician for our Aero Services division. This is a deployable role and will require OCONUS travel working in a FLEX schedule with the ability to live at any location. 

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting in a variety of moderately complex structural, composite, mechanical and/or electrical operations to ensure appropriate aircraft structural, avionics, and electrical systems are installed, tested and operational. The position performs moderately complex system modifications due to technical updates and/or a customer request, which require disassembly, modification, reassembly, and testing of mechanical and/or electrical system. Following technical documentation, monitors, tests and verifies quality of work, and completes required documentation for review.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Installs and tests aircraft structural, composite, avionics, and/or electrical systems to ensure they are operational and meet required quality standards.
  • Assists in investigating and analyzing project requirements and operating problems and develops and recommends solutions to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoots moderately complex system issues including mechanical, engine, fuel or electrical.  May participate in the design of new parts or components.
  • Performs moderately complex aircraft repairs and rework on composite, metal or laminate assemblies, parts, components and/or structures utilizing inspection and rework instructions.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
  • Assists in moderately complex system modifications due to technical updates and/or customer requests including final operational testing and assurance they meet quality standards.
  • Completes all required documentation in accordance with established company procedures and/or government and customer technical order requirements.
  • May participate in the performance of airframe operational checks, installation of payloads and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) in accordance with company and customer guidelines.
  • May perform launch recovery tasks of aircraft to include ground operations preflight items, ground observer responsibilities and post flight items.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.  
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires an Associate's degree in a related field or military/trade school equivalence and two or more years' of progressive experience in aircraft assembly and/or maintenance. Additional related technical experience may be substituted in lieu of the formal education.
  • The position requires a full knowledge and understanding of.
  • Structural, composite, mechanical and electrical systems and associated regulations; and, related assembly/installation processes, tools, composites, templates, fixtures, testing and measuring devices as well as judgment to determine correct tool(s) and some experience.
  • Reading, interpreting, and explaining blueprints, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Installing, inspecting, modifying, adjusting and testing various mechanical assemblies and structures; and completing required technical documentation.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills are required to interface with supervisors, other staff and/or other departments.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment, and able to work extended hours when required.
  • OCONUS travel working in a FLEX schedule with the ability to live at any location required.
