Description

Main Purpose:

The Instrumentation Technician Helper assists with assembling or securing pipe, tubing, fittings or related equipment and measuring, cuting, bending, reaming, and installing tubing according to drawings, blueprints, sketches or manuals.


Essential Functions:

  • Read and understand engineered drawings
  • Complete material take off for project materials
  • Display knowledge of electrical circuits when assisting with electrical integration and other areas
  • Bend, run and test tubing installation  
  • Run tubing from sample systems to analyzers and headers
  • Build sample systems
  • Install Dekoron, mount analyzers, sample systems and other instruments
  • Own and maintain safe work practices
  • Own and maintain quality work practices and final product quality
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements


Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in instrumentation or instrumentation fitting
  • Willing to travel 10-25% of the time for field assignments
  • Must be meticulous about capturing and retaining information
  • Must be analytical and detail oriented
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to explain issues clearly to team
  • Must have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Record-keeping software etc.)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous I&E experience
  • Valid TWIC card
  • Safety Essentials and Site Specific Certifications

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

  • Standard Hand Tools

Environmental Conditions:

Work activities are performed in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas etc.). Individuals may also have to walk the yard, climb stairs and inspect large assemblies.
