Pay Range: $20.50hr - $25.50hr

Job Overview:

• The candidate performs a wide variety of assigned tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as electromechanical modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
• The successful candidate determines and follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting on assembly units.
• The role involves working from diagrams and drawings, making initial layouts, and using hand and power tools, jigs, and saws.
• The candidate conducts quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with quality specifications and disassembles, modifies, reworks, reassembles, and tests experimental or prototype assemblies according to specifications.
• The candidate makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications while identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues associated with instrument assembly operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• The candidate must be able to build, integrate, and understand the entire assembly process and requirements for any instrument in the production area.
• Responsible for assembling multiple product lines including integration of sub-assemblies into the instrument.
• Provide overall device history record recording and reporting for serial numbers and tools.
• Provide basic component testing for pre-assemblies and modules of simple instruments.
• Identify defects and recommend design and process improvements.
• Provide expertise in reading and understanding drawings, work instructions, and overall workmanship standards.
• Provide training to associates as needed including a broad variety of mechanical and basic testing activities.
• Execute on basic test instructions as needed including analyzing results and data to determine pass/fail or next steps.
• Conduct routine and moderately complex troubleshooting and repair work.
• Complete any related production activities in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and in accordance with the organization’s expectations for Safety and Quality.
• Work or interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning and Purchasing as needed.
• Complete work activity in accordance to the organization’s defined specifications, operating procedures, and company policies.
• Perform standard material handling functions for instrument raw materials and sub-assemblies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through execution of all housekeeping responsibilities including cleaning, sweeping, and organizing.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Follow all organization housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Follow all organization safety policies and procedures.
• Work overtime as required to meet business requirements.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school degree or GED required with 3 years of manufacturing experience or an AA technical degree with 1 year of experience. Experience in a regulated environment is required.
• Proven leadership skills capability and ability to mentor, coach, and develop other associates.
• Proven ability and accountability to results and to improve performance and processes across a team, work cell, or project.
• Strong ability and commitment to Continuous Improvement, including the ability to initiate, implement, and provide ongoing support for all aspects of Lean Manufacturing philosophies.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical tools including torque drivers, graphics, and bits.
• Highly proficient at reading drawings, interpreting and measuring dimensions, and requirements.
• Ability to manage time across multiple production orders and processes within allotted time standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting to reach common goals.
• Ability to understand and work within specified Quality procedures.
• Proven ability to complete tasks in support of achieving goals and improved performance.
• Ability to effectively manage frequent assignment changes.

Proficient/Working Skills:

• The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyze and evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Basic proficiency with PCs and the use of a Windows environment is required.
• The candidate must use independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot, and problem solve in areas of set up, operations, and processes.
