Job Overview:


Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc. is seeking an Installation Technician to join our Industrial Product Group based out of our Cincinnati, Ohio location. In this role, you will install, assemble and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, and pneumatic equipment used in industrial production and processing facilities. Responsibilities included interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, laying out system components, and ensuring installations are completed according to specifications and industry standards.

Work Schedule:  This position is 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available based on business needs. The typical workday is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. however, candidates must be flexible, as work hours may vary to meet customer deadlines and project requirements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, etc., according to job specifications. 
  • Inspects worksite to determine presence of obstructions.
  • Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
  • Skilled in cutting, threading, and grooving to include but not limited to Victaulic, black iron, aluminum, and copper pipes to fit specific configurations and dimensions. 
  • Capability to install pipes in a variety of settings including industrial and commercial while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps and hangers using hand and power tools. 
  • Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pressure vessels and other equipment for indication of leaks. 
  • Experience in rigging heavy equipment.
  • Experience working with several types of sheet metal and duct work. 
  • Experience working with arial equipment, telehandler, and forklift to move heavy equipment safely on various jobsites. 
  • Experience working with and installing outdoor pipe insulation for thermal protection of equipment.
  • Experience in piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and large rooftop equipment. 
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand complex technical drawings to plan pipe installations accurately. 
  • Requires the ability to accurately measure and align to ensure proper fit and function of pipes. 
  • Requires the ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High School diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Possess the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and stand on your feet for extended periods of time, may stoop, bend and twist repeatedly.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress and track procurements and status. 
  • Excellent verbal, written and people skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary. 
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team to communicate with other tradespeople, supervisors, and customers to coordinate installations and resolve any conflicts or issues. 
  • Requires strong analytical, project management and critical thinking skills. 
  • Adheres to all site specific and Atlas Machine and Supply safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and their colleagues. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and equipment to continually improve their skills and efficiency. 
  • Ability to travel to jobsites in a 4-hr. radius of Louisville.
