Job Overview:

Installation Coordinator - Sterling Heights, Michigan
Day Shift Contract position - standard 6:00am start time
Approximately $27.00 per hour


To ensure a timely, cost-effective and successful installation. These goals are attained by paying attention to details starting at the beginning of the project, continuing through the in-house phase of the project with the completion in the field.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Install Coordinator:
As coordinators you will be responsible for the installation of an assigned project from start to finish. (Note: You can be reassigned projects at the discretion of your supervisor or manager)
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Once assigned a project, the coordinator must create the current folder structure within the current installation directory (per the setup naming structures).
  2. Attend project kick-off meetings and take all kick-off documents and scan and file them within the current directory structure. Also, if a site leader has been assigned to the project, make sure they are given a copy of all the documentation and information you received.
  3. Send out site data sheet to the project manager to fill out and return to the installation department. This will let us know what they require for the site and all the contact information we will need for setting up the site. Store the sheet in the current installation directory.
  4. Attend manufacturing kick-off meetings and gather all documentation provided and file accordingly in the current installation directory. Also make sure to send this information to the assigned side leader of the project if one has been assigned.
  5. Work with the project manager and site leader (if assigned) to come up with the installation plan and manpower requirements.
  6. Process and file the submitted installation work packages in the current installation directory structure and build the contact list according to the work plan/schedule. g) Process and file the submitted installation work packages in the current installation directory structure and build the contact list according to the work plan/schedule.
  7. Work with the Manufacturing, Applications, and Quality Supervisors in the placement of Manufacturing (Mech, Elec, Pipe), Applications (PLC Programmers, Robot Programmers, and Weld Engineers) and Quality (Inspection and Safety) Personnel to field installations and integrations.
  8. Create and submit travel request forms according to the current travel submittal procedure.
  9. Process; submit and issue travel advances per the current submittal process.

  11. Process and issue paperwork for international travel (border letters, copies of POS, visas).
  12. Create hard copy and electronic line-ups for each of the personnel supporting the installation. (Basic packet: installation work package, timesheet/expense and service report package, travel allowance and mileage chart, site information sheet, directions to the site, travel itineraries, safety documentation, drug screen, proper PPE and any additional information required).
  13. Work with site leaders to maintain durations charts and/or contact lists and associated travels for the site personnel
  14. Process travel changes according to the current travel procedures.
  15. Process and approve employee and contingent worker time in STEP system.

  17. Attends and or sets up meetings with the site teams and project management teams to review manpower, open issues, travel needs, work plan reviews, line ups and any other type of required communication meetings that may be needed.
  18. Attends and or conducts kit buy-off reviews.
  19. Assists and/or supervises with setting up gang boxes, tool trailers and/or office trailers.
  20. Service releases for office trailer rentals, golf carts, equipment repairs, equipment rentals and other materials or services needed for the site.
  21. Travel to the sites to assist site leaders to with set up the machine shop trailers, office trailers and other miscellaneous requirements.
  22. Review and assist the installation supervisor and/or manager with updating or changing departmental procedures and/or forms

  24. Process all time and expense adjustments related to the assigned projects.
  25. 24-hour emergency on call (personnel are rotated every week from the top of the list to the bottom of the list).
 
 Education
  1. Associate’s degree from two-year College or University
 
 Supervisory Responsibilities:
  1. Required to supervise up to 5 or 10 employees.
  2. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  3. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems (this would be in a site leader capacity in the field).
