Accurate Metal Machining, Inc. (AMMI) is a precision machining company headquartered in Painesville, Ohio, serving aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. Our Finishing Inspectors are the final checkpoints before parts leave our facility, a role that carries real weight and real pride.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Finishing Inspector performs in-process and final inspections on complex machine components with tight tolerances, ensuring all parts meet blueprint and specification requirements before shipment. This role requires strong visual inspection skills, proficiency with a wide range of measurement instruments, accurate documentation, and the ability to package parts per written instructions. Detail-orientation and consistency are what make this role excellent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform final inspections per designated inspection checklists
• Perform in-process inspections on finishing operations as required
• Verify parts against blueprint tolerances and applicable specifications
• Identify and report nonconforming product per AMMI quality procedures
• Document all inspection results accurately and completely
• Package parts per written packaging instructions
• Use inspection instruments including optical comparators, height gages, calipers, micrometers, and 3x/10x magnification microscopes
• Perform other quality-related tasks as directed by the Inspection Foreman or Quality Manager

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Strong visual inspection skills and attention to detail
• Ability to use common inspection instruments and gages including 3x and 10x magnification
• Ability to read basic blueprints and follow written specifications
• Accurate documentation habits
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused

Preferred:

• 2+ years of related inspection experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a finishing, plating, or post-machining inspection environment
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation
