Job Overview:

Atlas Machine & Supply, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for our Cincinnati, Ohio location. This role involves a diverse set of technical skills, including the inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of mechanical and electrical components in air compressors and pump systems used in commercial and industrial environments. 


All work will be performed onsite at our facility in Cincinnati and on the job training and external training programs are available and will be provided to support job growth and skill improvements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Inspect returned and in-house equipment for damage, wear, and operational issues.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems on air compressors, dryers, and related equipment.
  • Remove, repair, and assist with installation of major components, including motors and airends. 
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs and maintenance.
  • Operate and test equipment after repair to verify proper performance and functionality. 
  • Power up units, interpret system alerts, and troubleshoot maintenance or operational issues. Wire equipment as needed for testing and operational verification. 
  • Document inspection findings, repairs completed, and operational performance results. 
  • Prepare equipment for rental or customer delivery by ensuring all components are installed and functioning properly. 
  • Inspect units for cleanliness, leaks, and safe operation prior to release. 
  • Follow work orders, service procedures, checklists, and complete all required service documentation.
  • Complete service reports (FSRs), job safety analyses (JSAs), and other required documentation
  • Assist field technicians as needed and provide support to other departments as needed
  • Move, stage, load, and unload equipment and parts while assisting with shipping and receiving activities, including pulling parts, loading trucks, uncrating new equipment, and properly disposing of packaging materials. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks to safely transport equipment and materials.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures implemented by Atlas.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by removing debris, eliminating trip hazards, and following company housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


R       REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude and a minimum of 3 years of related experience, such as generator mechanic, diesel engine mechanic, or large refrigeration system experience
  • Basic electrical knowledge is required
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with above-average computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain flexibility in their work schedule
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, twisting, and standing for extended periods of time while working in varying climate conditions
