Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY
The Aggregate Inside Sales Representative serves as the critical hub between Martin Marietta’s outside sales team, customer service and dispatch team, our operations, and our customers. This role is primarily responsible for managing the internal sales lifecycle—from lead qualification and quoting to order entry and account maintenance. You will provide the technical and administrative backbone that allows our Outside Sales Representatives to focus on field expansion, while you ensure that existing customers receive best in class service, accurate pricing, quick turnaround and timely product delivery.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary point of contact for field representatives, preparing bid packages, sourcing product availability, and providing real-time data to support field negotiations.
  • Screen and qualify inbound customer inquiries and sales leads, directing high-value opportunities to the appropriate Outside Sales Representative while managing smaller accounts independently.
  • Monitor industry bidding platforms and project tracking services to identify upcoming regional infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects.
  • Manage and grow a select portfolio of "house" accounts, ensuring their construction material needs are met without requiring a field visit.
  • Act as the "first responder" for customer inquiries, delivery discrepancies, or billing issues, coordinating with Dispatch and Quality Control to provide rapid solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer pricing files within the CRM and ERP systems, ensuring all quotes reflect current market conditions and fuel surcharges.
  • Work daily with Operations, Quality Control, and Dispatch to ensure product specifications meet customer requirements and that plant production schedules align with order volumes.
  • Oversee the accurate entry of sales orders and confirm shipping dates, ensuring the logistics chain is informed of specialized delivery needs.
  • Partner with the District Credit Department to assist in opening new accounts and resolving accounts receivable hurdles to keep projects moving forward.
  • Review project specifications and bid documents to prepare accurate quotes for aggregates products.
  • Maintain and update project bid logs and sales forecasts. Generate weekly and monthly reports on sales volume, ASP (Average Selling Price), and backlog status for leadership.
  • Ensure 100% data integrity in the CRM system, documenting all customer interactions, quotes, and project statuses.
  • Ensure all sales activities and price quotes strictly adhere to Martin Marietta’s Ethics Policy and Code of Conduct.
