Toolmaker I – Magnesium Injection Molds

We are hiring a Toolmaker to support magnesium injection mold maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Northern Colorado. This is a great opportunity for someone with mold repair, tool room, or precision machining experience who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting and working with tight-tolerance tooling.
This role will focus heavily on maintaining and repairing magnesium injection molds, completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting wear and damage, and supporting production across a multi-shift facility.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair magnesium injection molds
Perform preventative and predictive mold maintenance
Repair cavities, cores, EJ pins, slides, angle pins, and other mold components
Support engineering changes and mold revisions
Machine and replace tooling components with a high degree of accuracy
Operate manual and CNC tool room equipment
Maintain mold history and tooling records
Build fixtures and gauges as needed
Work closely with production and tooling teams to minimize downtime
Experience in a tool room, mold shop, or precision machining environment
Understanding of injection mold components and mold maintenance practices
Familiarity with:
CNC mills
Surface grinders
Lathes
Sinker EDM
Mold polishing and stoning
Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
Comfortable using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools
Basic understanding of metallurgy, tooling steels, and machining principles
Experience with SolidWorks or CAM software is a plus
Someone who takes pride in precision work and enjoys solving mechanical problems

$25-$33/hr depending on experience
