Injection Molding Set-Up Technician, 3rd Shift – Moorpark, CA

We have an opportunity for an Injection Molding Set-Up Technician to join our Moorpark, CA team. You will ensure safety, quality, customer service, and cost control. You will be proactive in mold change process and quality improvements. You will improve and document standard mold change activity for injection molding machines and secondary equipment.

You will:

Operate machines, start up and shutdowns, perform machine adjustments and maintain all equipment to meet Safety and Quality requirements.
Set-up and process all molding machines to the optimum conditions, and make sure the machines are operating under validated operating parameters.
Ensure all department procedures are understood and followed.
Assist operators in processing and troubleshooting.
Ensure that P.M.s are performed routinely on molds, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment.
Direct and perform mold changeovers with appropriate tools and tooling (i.e., overhead crane, forklifts, and assigned toolboxes) and establish change over cycle time sheets and process sheets.
Perform special projects and assignments.
Participate in Process Management Teams and LEAN initiatives.
Must be able to communicate effectively with department personnel and all support functions (Quality, Tool Room, Mold Shop, and Maintenance).
Lead the shift and report shift performance in the absence of the Team Leader (i.e. downtime, production, scrap).
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Group Lead and Manager.

Key Qualifications:

High school diploma.
Able to communicate effectively in the English language.
Two or more years of Injection Molding processing experience on presses ranging from 50 to 1500 ton.
Experience with hot runner systems.
Ability to learn how to operate a variety of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (Dryers, Thermolaters, temperature controllers).
Must understand machine controls and set points.
Ability to troubleshoot processes and perform root cause.
Knowledge of processing different types of resins.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of hand and power tools.
Physical demands: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently, stand for prolonged periods of time, and do repetitive motions with arms, hands, and fingers.
Work environment: must be comfortable being continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts on the floor, and work in a moderate to loud environment.
Steel-toed footwear is required.

Compensation:

The anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $28-$32/hour, DOE, plus 8% shift premium for working 2nd or 3rd shift. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be determined by considering demonstrable level of experience, skills, knowledge, and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
$1000 Sign-On Bonus payable after 60 days of employment (no unexcused absences)

Shift:

3rd Shift, 10:00pm - 6:40am (plus OT and weekends as needed)
Training will be done on 1st shift
Must be willing to rotate 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift as needed to accommodate the needs of the business (short- or long-term).
