INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Injection Molding Startup Technician role is to support and assist the Set-up team and oversee the startup of an injection molding machine to manufacture finished product that meets customer expectations while optimizing the process to improve machine key performance indicators. The Injection Startup Technician will play a key role in managing the critical performance data for each mold and machine and implementing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Mold change startups
• Maintain and update process cards for all mold / machine combinations
• Maintain APC utilization on KM injection molding machines
• Perform mold repairs as needed in the press
• Perform mold changes as needed
• Assist in the training and development of the mold change team
• Perform mold change checklist
• Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of injection molds in production
• Assist in Material R&D projects
• Member of the CI Core Team - maintain project Implementation plans as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma and/or GED equivalent preferred
• Previous manufacturing experience required
• Previous experience with Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and/or Plastic Extrusion

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate the ability to critical think and problem solve with relation to mechanical and production challenges
• Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment
• Must adhere to all safety guidelines and foster a safe work culture
• Must be able to accurately complete paperwork as needed
