Job Overview:

Position Overview

We are seeking a mechanically skilled Injection Molding Process Technician to support our 3rd shift production team. This hands-on role focuses on troubleshooting molding processes, resolving production issues, reducing scrap, and improving cycle times and machine uptime.

The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills and an understanding of injection molding processes. Injection molding experience and scientific molding training are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot injection molding processes using scientific molding principles and production data.

  • Identify and resolve process issues affecting part quality, scrap, cycle times, and machine performance.

  • Respond to machine alarms, determine root causes, and resolve process-related work orders.

  • Monitor and verify part weights, cycle times, and process settings against established specifications.

  • Audit molding processes to ensure compliance with production and quality standards.

  • Record setup activities and material usage in Plex.

  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on scrap reduction, downtime, efficiency, cost savings, safety, and quality.

  • Train and support operators and molders on established processes.

  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

  • Follow safety procedures, support environmental initiatives, and assist with production duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.

  • Injection molding processing experience preferred.

  • Associate degree in Plastics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Paulson training or similar plastics processing training is a plus.

  • Basic math skills and the ability to accurately document production information.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with production and quality teams.

  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail when operating equipment and inspecting parts.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with moderate noise levels.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the production area.

  • Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and inspect parts.

  • Ability to work with manual, semi-automatic, and automated equipment.

  • Safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, and additional PPE required as needed.
