Job Description

NYX is hiring an Injection Molding Maintenance Technician in Livonia, MI. This is a direct-hire position with NYX, paying $30–$35 per hour.

Required experience: At least 3 to 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience with plastic injection molding equipment used to produce automotive interior components. General maintenance experience or process setup/mold-setting experience alone does not meet this requirement.

You'll troubleshoot, repair and maintain injection molding machines, production equipment and supporting plant systems. The focus is hands-on equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include completing preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnosing equipment failures, making repairs, and documenting work orders and maintenance checks. Equipment includes injection molding machines, robots, thermolators, dryers, conveyors, air compressors and vacuum pumps, along with building and other support equipment.

Follow lockout/tagout and plant safety procedures, maintain 5S housekeeping standards, and report safety concerns and injuries. Basic knowledge of TS16949 and the company's Quality Policy is required. Complete additional maintenance work and training as directed.

Physical Demands:

• Standing – frequently required on concrete floor when repairing equipment
• Walking – sometimes required during repairing or doing maintenance
• Lifting – frequent lifting from floor to waist level
• Reaching – frequently extending arms and hands in front of body and below the waist when repairing machines
• Turning/twisting – required all the time to perform job functions
• Bending/stooping – occasionally required

Mechanical aptitude, Minimum Associate Degree or equivalent experience in maintenance. Experience in an industrial production environment desired, trouble shooting skills, flexible schedule and willing to work overtime on short notice.

Knowledge of safety in an industrial setting.
