Description

Summary:

This position supports manufacturing by leading the injection mold team in monitoring mold performance and maintenance, reducing scrap and assuring product quality. Also leads with performing injection molding setup, start up, tear down and supports production runs. Additional responsibilities include training, mentoring, and maintaining a neat and orderly work area in accordance with 5S standards, and adhering to safety policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform mold and set up changes to meet production demands
  • Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to identify defects
  • Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems to reduce downtime, scrap, and internal rejects at an advanced level
  • Responsible for training of maintenance technicians to ensure competency in all positions and at all levels
  • Champion safety during the shift through training and enforcement of policies
  • Direct 5S and housekeeping efforts in the Mold Shop to maintain cleanliness and order
  • Document and report preventative maintenance findings to senior leadership
  • Direct preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime while maintaining proper care

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment includes exposure to Operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, constant noise, grease, dirt or oil. Constant exposure to moving parts and equipment requires high degree of caution and safety to avoid minor or serious injury. Temperature regulated work environment in addition to exposure to extremely warm or cold outside conditions or areas of the facility that are not temperature regulated.

Qualifications


EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with injection molding processes, machine and tools
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Setup and trouble shooting skills required and advanced processing knowledge is preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk the entire shift.
  • Mechanical aptitude, math proficiency and prior experience with power and hand tools
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing is preferred
  • PC skills to include MS Office
