We are seeking an experienced and talented Injection Mold/Jr. Process Technicians to join our team. This opportunity involves supporting complex program launches and reviewing current programs and machines to improve production efficiency. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible to achieve the minimum possible mold change/set-up time.
  • Mold changes to including:  Proper watering and clamping of molds.  Basic machine operations and machine set-up to include: barrel heats, pressures, timers, clamp settings, and all clamp functions.  
  • Properly reading mold schedule and mold identification.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness to include:  Building proper chutes to contain ejected parts from machines.  Clean purge and excess material from machines.  Remove any parts, etc. – from under machines.
  • Safety first mindset. Ensure all safety features, such as drop bars and switches, are functioning.
  • Maximize uptime on all machine      centers with the objective of reducing and eliminating downtime.

In addition to setting molds, ability to perform or willingness to learn:

  • Start up and troubleshoot the injection molding process.
  • Document all process parameters on documents to the Master Setup Sheets.
  • Ensure process parameters and mold protection settings      meet process specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to prevent part defects.
  • Respond to all Quality and Operator issues regarding      parts and processes.
  • Maintain and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Drive reduction of scrap through the elimination of      mold conditions using corrective action and mold maintenance forms.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; degree a plus.
  • 1 to 3 years experience with setting molds and/or troubleshooting injection molding preferred.
  • Experience in thermoplastic injection molding highly preferred. 
  • Knowledge of set-up for injection molding machines.
  • Professional and respectful communication skills.
  • Problem Solving ability and working knowledge of machinery, electronic, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Willing to stay current with technology through continuous education.
  • Must demonstrate reliability by maintaining an excellent attendance record at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Able to work independently with limited supervision.

Able to lift, move, push and pull up to 40 pounds frequently.

Bend, stoop, stand, sit and walk up to 8 hours, to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% to 100% of the time.

Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Able to ascend/descend forklift and standing lift, trailers, steps, ladders etc.

Must have the ability to turn head to look in the direction of travel and able to look up. Must be able to wear the seat belt during forklift operation per OSHA regulation.
