Moldtronics, Inc. is a privately held contract manufacturer located in Downers Grove, Illinois. Since 1955, we have specialized in custom injection molding, mold making, CNC machining, and manufacturing for customers across the aerospace, defense, medical, agriculture, IOT, and commercial industries.

Position Summary

We're seeking an experienced Injection Mold Maker to join our team in a hybrid role that combines mold building with precision CNC machining. You'll work directly with engineering, quality, and production teams to design, build, and maintain plastic injection molds while operating advanced CNC machining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and repair plastic injection molds from CAD models, blueprints, and engineering specifications
• Operate CNC mills, vertical mills, sinker/orbital EDM machines, and surface grinders
• CNC Machine precision parts and components to specification
• Create your own programs using Mastercam.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings with accuracy
• Perform quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot tooling and part-quality issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of mold design and manufacturing processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of injection mold making and/or mold repair experience.
• The ability to build plastic injection molds using mold designs, CAD models, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of injection mold construction, operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret mold designs, blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and engineering specifications.
• Experience with mills, lathes, surface grinders, and standard Tool Room equipment.
• Strong precision machining, fitting, inspection, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working to close tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
• CNC experience required.
• CAD/CAM experience required.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Compensation & Schedule

$30.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday
• 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
• On-site in Downers Grove, Illinois
• Overtime may be available based on production needs.
