Description
The Production Team Member/Sewing Operator is responsible for completing production process activities. Duties include but are not limited to layout, cutting, sewing, assembly, and other general direct production activities as requested by the Production Supervisor. Other duties include but are not limited to warehousing functions, preparation of raw materials for production, equipment/tool maintenance, and other general production support as requested by the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities not limited to:
Production:
- Participate in all in-process production activities: mark, cut, assemble and process subpart materials as per engineering drawings; apply pins or grommets to materials.
- Perform sewing operations as per drawings.
- Produce acceptable quality parts as per drawings and BRD standards.
- Prepare raw materials for production process; pack finished goods for shipping; complete inspection process for all in/out materials.
- Promote safety and healthy practices in the performance of position duties.
- Demonstrate efficient industrial stitching skills using various sewing equipment. Skills to include proper threading and start and finish stitches, straight and curved stitching on various materials, and close stitching.
- Properly maintain sewing equipment.
Production Support Activities
- Record keeping: Complete receiving activities on incoming materials; complete shipping activities on outbound goods. Record all material and time transactions; maintain accurate wip inventory records; participate in physical inventory.
- Maintenance: Maintain neat and orderly warehouse and shop operations and assist maintaining equipment. Create, document and adhere to all equipment maintenance schedules. Keep production spaces clean and safe.
- Maintain forklift certifications.
- Attend and participate in scheduled team and cross-functional meetings as requested. Participate in weekly team meetings and safety talks.
Requirements
- High School diploma with strong command of English language – written and oral.
- 1- 2 years of previous experience in sewing or other material/pattern operations.
- Ability to Lift 30-40lbs
- Operate/certified to operate a forklift - preferred
- Read Technical drawings and blueprints
