Position Summary:

The Industrial Project Manager is a critical member of Hirsh’s Leadership Team.  They will work synergistically with the other members of the Leadership Team to manage and oversee the company's overall plant operations. They will participate in leading and directing all aspects of the manufacturing operations and making recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations through continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Development:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identifies, communicates, and drives implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost.   

 

  1. Execution and Monitoring:
  • Coordinate and supervise project teams, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against the plan, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project success.

 

 

  1. Communication and Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.

 

  1. Budget and Resource Management:
  • Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Optimize resource utilization and manage procurement of materials and equipment.

 

  1. Project Closure:
  • Oversee project close-out activities, including final inspections, documentation, and client handover.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience leading an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Proficient with MS Office and statistical analysis tools.
  • Prefers a hands-on production environment.
  • Must be able to commute to the manufacturing plant in Dover, DE on a daily basis as this is not a remote position

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Solid understanding of industrial processes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems techniques, 5s, and LEAN is a plus.

  • Proficient in team synergy.
