A confidential manufacturing company is seeking a Product Engineer to support new product development, improve existing product lines, and provide hands‑on engineering support within a growing production environment. This role blends design engineering, sustaining engineering, and manufacturing floor troubleshooting, offering strong long‑term growth opportunities.

Position Overview

The Product Engineer will lead and support engineering activities across the full product lifecycle. This includes concept development, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, sustaining engineering, cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer who enjoys both design work and time on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support new product development, including concept evaluation, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and validation

  • Provide DFM/DFA input and assist in transitioning new products into production

  • Support and improve currently manufactured products, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance

  • Investigate and resolve field issues, customer complaints, and internal quality concerns

  • Execute engineering change processes (ECR/ECO) to maintain design integrity

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product durability, manufacturability, and performance

  • Lead cost reduction and value engineering efforts, including material changes, supplier optimization, and design simplification

  • Participate in product quality reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams

  • Provide manufacturing floor support, troubleshooting production issues and improving throughput

  • Develop and refine work instructions, assembly processes, and production documentation

  • Create and maintain SolidWorks 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings

  • Manage BOMs, revisions, and engineering documentation within PDM/PLM systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required

  • 3–5+ years of product engineering or design engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with sustaining engineering and product lifecycle management preferred

  • Knowledge of plastic part design and injection molding strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, assembly)

  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, root cause analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies

  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems preferred

  • CFD/FEA experience beneficial

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Combination of office‑based engineering work and hands‑on support in a manufacturing environment

  • Occasional travel to suppliers or manufacturing sites

  • Standard Monday–Friday schedule
