Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual for a career opportunity in meter assembly & industrial painting. This is a 1st shift position in our TCS division.
A successful candidate must be a dedicated team player, motivated, self-directed/ self-starting, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented and dependable, can follow instructions and consistently produce good work. A successful candidate will operate various equipment and hand tools and will be responsible for the efficient assembly and testing of quality components and finished goods meeting all production requirements. This person will also have prior industrial painting experience from a manufacturing setting and will be responsible for the painting and coating of various parts, used in the assembly of components, that meet all production requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following
- Selects the parts necessary to paint the required component or finished good
- Clean and Prepare Surfaces
- Attach clean paint tips to electrostatic paint gun.
- Prepares the surface of parts that are to be painted by taping off or plugging areas.
- Prepare Paints
- Prepare steamer by filling and turning on power.
- Prepare and stir the paint and primer for use.
- Fill paint and catalyst containers.
- May use measurement equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gages and gloss gages to check the makeup of the paint or mix the appropriate compounds for the job.
- Start up the paint line by following procedures outlined in the Paint Booth manual.
- Records time and materials used in a prompt and accurate manner.
- Records scrap materials using established procedures.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work area keeping parts in the correct bins with accurately completed labels.
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
- Carefully follow all procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste.
- Responsible for maintenance of the painting equipment.
- Remove and clean all used paint tips
- Remove and clean primer gun
- Clear paint line
- Power off paint booth, light, and steamer
- Trains other painters and/or back up painters on occasion.
- Judges the quality of the product that they complete.
- Other Duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- May assemble parts into a completed unit
- Consults with Supervision, Assembler 2 and Assembler 3 production personnel to identify quality problems and resolve production issues.
- Receives written and/or verbal instructions
- Selects the parts necessary to assemble into the required component or finished good
- Assembles them into a completed unit.
- Records time and materials used in a prompt and accurate manner.
- Records scrap materials using established procedures.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work area.
- Tests the unit to assure that it operates in accordance with customer requirements following assembly,

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior manufacturing/ assembly & industrial painting experience required.
- 2+ Years of work with detailed written instructions
Physical Requirements:
- Manually lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Use of written and oral communication.
- Capable of standing/walking more than 80% of work time.
- 100% of working time (except for assigned breaks) is spent on the production floor.
