Summary
The basic function of the Painter is to prep and paint Spectrum products with spray equipment. Properly performing the duties and responsibilities listed below will ensure reaching our company goal of 100% customer satisfaction.
- Read the assembly production schedule and determine what must be completed before the end of day.
- Move materials as needed.
- Prepare shells for painting by following proper sanding and cleaning procedures.
- Always keep the paint area clean and safe.
- Prime and paint scoreboards and signs using spray equipment.
- Always wear proper PPE and observe all safety procedures for handling paint.
- Inspect the shell for imperfection prior to painting it and inspect paint after it has been applied.
- Periodically assist other departments with their job functions when directed by supervisor.
- Turn in labor tickets daily.
- Keep track of paint and paint supplies and notify purchasing department when reorder is necessary.
- Replace paint booth air filters as it is necessary and dispose of them properly.
- Maintain a team environment with coworkers.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be familiar and show proficiency with techniques and materials used for painting signs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
- Must be organized and keep work area neat, clean, and safe.
- Must be able to maintain order and troubleshoot issues when problems arise.
- Must be able to lift moderate to heavy weights.
- Must be able to pass random drug screens.
Required Education and Licensing
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of one year of related experience is preferred.
