Job Summary
The Industrial Painter will be responsible for applying paint and coatings to precision metal components in a NADCAP-certified manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with aerospace and industry standards by properly preparing, masking, painting, and inspecting parts throughout the finishing process. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Painting - Prepare metal surfaces for painting by cleaning, masking, sanding, and applying primers as required
Apply wet paint and coatings using spray guns and other finishing equipment following precise specifications.
Ensure proper adhesion, coverage, and thickness of coatings to meet industry and customer requirements.
Identify and correct coating defects, contamination, or imperfections before final approval.
Maintain accurate records of paint usage, process parameters, and quality checks
Quality Control & Inspection - Conduct visual inspections of painted parts to verify quality, finish consistency, and adherence to NADCAP, AS9100, and customer specifications.
Equipment Maintenance & Safety
Clean and maintain paint guns, spray booths, and other finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with 5S standards and safety protocols.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of PPT (gloves, safety glasses, respirators)
Properly store and dispose of paint and chemical waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with team, production team, and quality inspectors to meet daily production goals
Qualifications
- Familiarity with NADCAP-certified or AS9100-compliant painting processes is a plus - High school diploma or GED preferred.
Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of paint mixing, coating applications, and masking techniques.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and process specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict quality control standards.
Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small precision parts.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements - Requires standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive tasks.
Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures in a production environment.
Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and management teams.
Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators) required.
Schedule- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday (Some flexibility may be required based on production needs).
Compensation- Hourly Rate: $20 - $26 per hour
