Summary: Accurately paint quality products according given direction and shop order’s requests. Follows policies and procedures put in place as well as any modifications while always being aware to preserving the product’s integrity and quality.

Essential Job Functions
PAINTING: The process of painting at Demco Manufacturing includes spray painting utilizing various paint(s). Involved in the process are numerous flexion/extension/rotation of multiple muscle groups of the upper body. There is extensive above the shoulder, up, down, and angulations of the upper extremities to maneuver the hand held sprayer (2-3 lbs). There is also continuous twisting, bending and squatting required. Some objects being painted are suspended and are manually moved on a conveyor rail system. The objects to be painted include numerous items including appliance carts, parts to agriculture sprayers, and grain handling equipment, including grain carts and wagons. Continuous standing and walking about the paint booth and the objects to be painted is required. The painter is required to wear an air supplied breathing apparatus or has the option to wear a full-face mask respirator. Temperatures range from 60 to 85 degrees (but potentially warmer in the summer due to the new paint system being installed). The supplied air is cooled in the summer time. Ventilation in the paint booth includes a filtering system. Length of the shifts range from 9-12 hours (average of 10).
The individuals in the paint department often rotate from painting to power spraying/prewash. They may also be required to grind parts, which requires above the shoulder work using tools weighing 2-15lbs. High Risk: CTD’s, back, shoulder, wrist, elbow, hand, asthma/bronchitis etc., dermatitis.
