Who are we looking for?

Composite Resources is looking for a Paint Prep Technician to join our growing team. The Paint Prep Technician will assist with preparing parts for painting, including cleaning and masking, as well as other tasks as assigned.

What you get to do!

  • Follow established work procedures to minimize unnecessary rework and/or scrap.
  • Prepare parts for cleaning and thoroughly washing to remove all contamination sources.
  • Masking of painted of parts per specification pre-paint.
  • Carefully remove masking from parts post-paint.
  • Safely move parts through workspaces and paint booths by hand and with support equipment.
  • Follow established work procedures to minimize unnecessary rework and/or scrap.
  • Make required record entries in logs, forms, and work orders per QC and department specific requirements.
  • Report machine/equipment malfunctions to senior painter or Supervisor.
  • Use various hand tools provided by department, maintaining accountability.
  • Willingness to temporarily be assigned to other departments to assist in part production.
  • Complete preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and paint booths as directed.
  • Operate department specific support equipment as required.
  • Willingness and desire to learn and gain knowledge in paint application processes upon mastery of paint preparation operations.
  • Adjust work processes and shift schedule/hours to meet production schedules as determined by the supervisor or manager.
  • Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
  • Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.

What you will bring to the Team

  • Autobody/automotive or other industrial paint experience preferred including the following: Masking parts, mixing of paints, and bondo & priming
  • Experience with paint sprayers, pneumatic sanders, and other paint prep experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to demonstrate attention to details
  • Great teammate who can effectively interact with co-workers, management and collaborate with other departments in the organization
