Mold Setter
Location: Akron, Ohio
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mold Setter to join a growing manufacturing team supporting high-volume plastic molding operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for performing mold changes, setting up production equipment, and ensuring machines are running safely and efficiently to meet production schedules.

Shift Availability
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mold changes safely and efficiently to support production schedules
- Set up molding machines and auxiliary equipment for production runs
- Verify machines are operating within established process parameters
- Perform machine startups following mold changes and ensure production readiness
- Troubleshoot setup and processing issues to minimize downtime
- Inspect tooling and equipment for wear or damage and report any concerns
- Work closely with Production, Process Technicians, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve manufacturing issues
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities during scheduled downtime
- Complete setup documentation and maintain accurate production records
- Follow all quality standards, work instructions, and safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing setup times and improving efficiency
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mold Setter within an injection molding environment
- Experience performing mold changes and machine setup
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to safely use hand tools, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems associated with molding equipment
- Ability to read setup sheets and production documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with high-volume plastic injection molding equipment
- Knowledge of process troubleshooting and startup procedures
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
