Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing team responsible for maintaining and improving heavy processing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and improving mechanical systems supporting critical production operations. The ideal candidate is a self-driven mechanic who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, minimizing downtime, collaborating across teams, and improving overall equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and power transmission equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, pumps, filters, hoses, regulators, and actuators.
- Perform precision alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, wear components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as required.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, OEM manuals, and assembly drawings.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects to maximize equipment uptime.
- Collaborate closely with electrical technicians during major repairs, installations, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, including writing daily reports, responding to emails, and searching for replacement parts via computer.
- Maintain proper care and cleanliness of tools, equipment, materials, and work areas while providing shift coverage as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Welding and metal fabrication experience.
- Experience working on slitting equipment, overhead cranes, and heavy material handling systems.
