American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Mechanic to join our Manufacturing team on 1st shift. In this role, you’ll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and equipment used in large-scale manufacturing projects. This is a great opportunity for early-career mechanics or experienced tradespeople looking to grow their skills in a structured, safety-focused environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 5:00AM–1:30PM | Full-time hours on-site

Compensation: Competitive starting hourly rate up to $34/hour based on experience, qualifications, and market data

What You’ll Do

  • Install, assemble, dismantle, and reassemble industrial machinery and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
  • Use precision measuring tools and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints 
  • Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
  • Replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Conduct testing to verify proper equipment operation after repairs
  • Collaborate with engineers and maintenance personnel to improve machine performance
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and properly care for tools and equipment
  • Follow all safety regulations and document maintenance and repair work

 

What We’re Looking For

Education 

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Technical or Trade school training (preferred)

 

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Entry level to 4 years of experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience using general hand tools and shop equipment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Able to multitask and work independently or as part of a team
  • Safety-focused and dependable

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access information or technology governed by U.S. export control laws (including 10 C.F.R. Part 810, EAR, and/or ITAR), where applicable
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen in accordance with company policy and randomize drug screens during employment
  • Ability to meet the posted work schedule and work required hours
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in or around the shop areas
  • Willingness to complete required safety and compliance trainings
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

  • Ability to work full-time, on-site on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 5:00AM–1:30PM)

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform confined space work

  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery, heavy materials, noise, vibration, and industrial conditions

  • Willingness to follow all safety policies and wear required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, etc)

  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, work instructions, and procedures

  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment

  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and cranes

 

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing and fabrication shop environment
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and heavy materials
  • Occasional exposure to heat, fumes, vibration, noise, and airborne particles
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
