What You’ll Do:

 

Machining & Operations

  • Operate manual machines, including lathes, horizontal boring mills, drill presses, and milling machines, to produce precision components.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of steel properties and material characteristics to complete tasks effectively.
  • Apply trigonometry and geometry to ensure precision in machining tasks.

 

Blueprints & Precision Measurement

  • Read and interpret blueprints to extract machining requirements.
  • Use precision measuring tools to maintain the highest quality standards.

 

CNC Machining & Tool Maintenance

  • Operate CNC machines and create jigs or sharpen tools as needed to support manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure machines are properly maintained and workspaces are organized, clean, and safe.

 

Leadership in Quality & Safety

  • Estimate job timelines and manage responsibilities efficiently while adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals while maintaining a focus on quality.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: 
    • High school diploma required; vocational training or a Machinist/Journeyman Certificate is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating lathes, horizontal boring mills, drill presses, and milling machines preferred
    • Familiarity with CNC operations is a plus.
    • Proficient knowledge of machine shop procedures and steel properties.
  • Skills: 
    • Strong blueprint interpretation, precision measuring, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:
