Worthington Steel is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to join our Cuyahoga Heights team.

You'll work hands-on with industrial production equipment while continuing to develop your skills in electrical systems, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics and other areas of industrial maintenance.

Your Schedule

This position is specifically for 3rd shift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

What You'll Work On

This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role supporting the equipment that keeps our steel processing operation running.

You'll:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment problems
  • Troubleshoot motors, controls and industrial electrical systems
  • Work with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs and ladder logic
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints and schematics
  • Complete mechanical repairs and equipment adjustments
  • Perform welding, cutting and fabrication as needed
  • Use meters and diagnostic equipment to identify problems
  • Document maintenance activities and repairs
  • Partner with production to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability

 

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is a troubleshooter at heart. You don't just want to replace a part. You want to understand what failed, determine why and fix the problem correctly.

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • Industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance or related skilled-trades experience
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints and schematics
  • Experience using meters and diagnostic tools
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, ladder logic, HMIs, welding and fabrication is highly valued.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Industrial maintenance or related skilled-trades experience
  • Ability to safely troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment
  • Ability to work 3rd shift, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

 

Relevant technical education, apprenticeships, military technical experience or skilled-trades training may also be considered.
