Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, working across multiple systems, and helping keep production running safely and efficiently.
The right candidate will have strong hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and will be confident diagnosing equipment failures, completing preventive maintenance, and responding quickly to production needs.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of industrial equipment while serving as a trusted technical resource to operators, maintenance leadership, and fellow technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Work with programmable controls, variable-frequency drives, power supplies, gearboxes, pumps, motors, and related manufacturing equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance procedures and help maintain equipment in excellent operating condition
- Respond to equipment failures with urgency and restore machinery to operation safely and efficiently
- Perform routine equipment inspections and travel paths to identify potential issues before they become major failures
- Create, update, and close work orders in the CMMS system
- Document repairs, parts used, labor time, follow-up work, and additional parts required
- Communicate effectively with maintenance supervisors, production managers, operators, mechanics, and fellow technicians
- Assist with startup and shutdown procedures in accordance with company and safety requirements
- Identify potential mechanical or electrical hazards and communicate concerns to appropriate leadership
- Support equipment reliability, plant efficiency, production goals, and food safety standards
- Help train and mentor new technicians while promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing
- Participate in safety meetings, technical training, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow all company, facility, state, and federal safety procedures
What We Are Looking For
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings
- Experience using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
- Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment
- Experience with AC drives, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and industrial power supplies
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair ability
- Ability to manage multiple repairs and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of machining, assembly practices, shop tools, and fixtures
- Comfortable working independently and making sound troubleshooting decisions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels
- Organized, dependable, self-motivated, and safety-focused
Preferred Experience
- TIG or stick welding experience
- Experience in food manufacturing or another regulated production environment
- Experience using a computerized maintenance management system
- Previous experience training or mentoring junior technicians
