Maintenance Technician – All Shifts

💲 $30 – $50 per hour (based on experience)

💰 Average Production Bonus: $3–$6 per hour

🌙 Shift Differential Available for 2nd & 3rd Shift

About the Role

Express Employment Professionals is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians for a heavy manufacturing facility in North Kansas City, MO. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Available Shifts

(All shifts available – hours may vary based on production needs)

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Shift differential available for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment while following all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, and mechanical systems.

• Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment changeovers.

• Verify guards and safety devices are properly installed before returning equipment to operation.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

• Observe equipment in operation and use precision measuring tools to diagnose issues.

• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.

• Maintain and track work orders through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Monitor inventory levels for maintenance parts and supplies.

• Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as needed.

• Identify and escalate safety, quality, or operational concerns.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem-solving.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

• Strong experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLC troubleshooting.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred.

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, micrometers, calipers, and technical drawings.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations.

• Ability to pass job-related testing, physical exam, and post-offer drug screen.

• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, crawl, and reach as required.

• Perform other physical duties as necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

• $30 – $50 per hour depending on experience

• Average production bonus of $3–$6 per hour
