In this confidential, hands-on maintenance opportunity, you’ll help keep a high-volume injection molding operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You’ll support equipment ranging from 45- to 1,500-ton injection molding machines to robotics, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, PLCs, conveyors, and material-handling systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new technology, and improving equipment performance.
What You’ll Do
Keep Production Moving
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on injection molding machines, robotics, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns, diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation issues, and restore equipment to safe operating condition.
- Maintain equipment such as mold temperature controllers, chillers, cooling towers, dryers, loaders, granulators, robots, hot runner systems, air compressors, resin blenders, and material-handling systems.
Be the Technical Problem Solver
- Diagnose problems methodically using observation, testing, schematics, technical drawings, machine manuals, and appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo controls, sensors, I/O cards, relays, contactors, motors, drives, load cells, limit switches, safety circuits, and robot/automation systems.
- Read PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting and minor adjustments, and identify root causes to help prevent repeat failures.
Improve the Operation
- Partner with Process Technicians, Engineering, Operations, vendors, and contractors to repair, improve, and fine-tune equipment and processes.
- Support startups, shutdowns, mold changes, equipment installations, machine moves, upgrades, commissioning, and process-related maintenance needs.
- Help reduce downtime by developing practical improvements such as poka-yoke devices, alarms, and reliability enhancements.
Keep It Safe and Documented
- Complete preventive maintenance, work orders, downtime records, inspection forms, and parts documentation accurately.
- Help maintain an organized spare-parts inventory and clean, safe work area.
- Follow all OSHA, ANSI, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, PPE, and site safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, and automated systems.
- Ability to read schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, machine controls, industrial safety practices, and lockout/tagout.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize equipment needs, communicate clearly, and document maintenance activity accurately.
We’d Love to See
- Injection molding maintenance experience with hydraulic, electric, or hybrid machines.
- PLC troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar platforms.
- Experience with robotics, servo motors, hot runners, EOAT, valve gates, mold temperature controllers, and material-handling systems.
- Technical certification, associate degree, apprenticeship, or formal training in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Welding, fabrication, machining, refrigeration, or CMMS/preventive maintenance software experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to
50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, work from ladders/lifts/elevated platforms, and work in restricted areas as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, lubricants, plastics, hydraulic fluids, and moving machinery.
- Ability to wear required PPE and willingness to become certified on sit-down forklift, stand-up forklift, and scissor lift.
