Maintenance Technician – Lafayette, IN

Pay: $30–$35/hr

Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift | Unsupervised Role

Position Overview

We’re looking for a self-driven, experienced Maintenance Technician to manage all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance at a busy manufacturing operation. This is an independent role that requires someone who can work with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and take initiative. A strong mechanical background is essential, and experience with electrical maintenance is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on production equipment, including saws, staplers, conveyors, and air compressors

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

• Work independently to identify maintenance needs and carry out repairs without oversight

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

• Maintain building systems including lighting, HVAC, and general facility upkeep

• Monitor parts inventory and order supplies as needed

• Keep accurate records of maintenance work and report progress to leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of facility needs

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certifications are a plus

Preferred Skills

• Electrical maintenance experience (wiring, panels, controls)

• Welding and light fabrication

• Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems

• Forklift certification
