Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour depending on experience
**POSITION SUMMARY
**
This position requires this person to safely and properly perform general and complex repairs to equipment. Operate equipment such as a forklift, electric pallet jack and boom lift in conjunction with the repairs of the facility.Perform repairs to the facility to ensure that the quality of the products is being processing it in accordance with the company’s guidelines for this position, as well as USDA rules, regulation, and requirements. Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required, must be able to read and write English.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**
Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of skilled maintenance technician.)
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems.
Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinds.
Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
Installs electrical wiring and equipment; new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; replaces and repairs wiring as needed.
Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment.
Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
**Minimum Experience/Education Requirements
**
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one years of related experience and/or training;
One year of forklift experience
Experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
**
Basic understanding and/or skills in welding, plumbing, electrical, control circuits, PLCs, pneumatics, software, hydraulics, carpentry, motors, pumps, utility equipment operation and repair.
Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and follow up.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Basic understanding of GMPs and HACCP.
Ability to work early hours, overtime, weekends and holidays as needed but not guaranteed.
Bilingual skills-Spanish/English preferred but not required, must be able to read and write English.
Computer skills are preferred for maintenance positions.
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS
**
Standing and Walking: Frequently during assigned shift, in combination with walking. Could be 8 to 12 hours a day.

Lift/Carry: Frequently Weights 1-100 lbs. Some projects allow for lifting that might exceed 100 lbs. when using both arms.
Push/Pull: Frequently during assigned shift. Using both arms exerting force to push, pull, carry and move boxes that weigh up to 100 lbs.
Bending: Frequently during assigned shift. Self-paced activity, minimize bending with attention to body mechanics.
Kneel/Crouch/Crawl: Frequently during assigned shift.
Reaching/Handling: Frequently during assigned shift. Reaching for product on shelves, pallets, forklift forks. Handling: Various sizes and weights of boxes.
Climbing: Occasionally – In and out of trucks, racks and pallets.
Driving: Frequently – Forklift, Pallet Jack
**WORK ENVIRONMENT
**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; cold temperatures; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
