THE OPPORTUNITY

Pro Services Workforce Solutions has partnered with a Fortune 500 corrugated packaging manufacturer to fill this Direct Hire opportunity for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician at their Cheswick, PA facility.

This is a multicraft role for a tech who is strong electrically and wants a real path to grow. You'll keep a corrugated converting operation running, from Flexo Folder Gluers and die cutters to conveyors and banders, and you'll have paid training in place to keep leveling up your skills and your pay.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

• A defined path to AA. You'll start at the B or A level based on your skills (A level requires passing the site's test), then grow toward AA through paid on-the-job and computer-based TPC training, typically over 1–2 years.
• A solid crew around you. Each shift runs three to four technicians, with support people on site and vendor access when you need it.
• Room to work independently. Techs here are expected to be as independent as possible, so your troubleshooting skills really count.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on corrugated converting equipment, including Flexo Folder Gluers, rotary and flat die cutters, EVOL, DRO, conveyors, and banders.
• Handle reactive, planned, proactive, and predictive maintenance on both the electrical and mechanical side.
• Take the time to break down electrical problems and troubleshoot them methodically across control voltage (0–24V), 110–240V single phase, and 480V three phase.
• Read electrical prints and schematics and follow the flow to find the fault, working on motors, relays, and related components.
• Troubleshoot PLC hardware down to the card level on Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems, and partner with vendors on anything on the program side.
• Rebuild mechanical devices and service bearings, shafts, seals, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
• Work on positive displacement, air diaphragm, and centrifugal pumps, and rebuild hydraulic cylinders on site.
• Weld and fabricate repairs using MIG and stick.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years of multicraft industrial maintenance experience. This role is for a Maintenance B level tech or higher, not an apprentice or entry-level position.
• A strong electrical foundation. This is the team's top priority because it's the hardest skill to teach. You're confident with a meter and can troubleshoot control voltage, single phase, and 480V three phase.
• Comfort reading electrical and mechanical prints and schematics.
• PLC hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Hands-on mechanical skills with bearings, shafts and seals, gearboxes, conveyors, and mechanical rebuilds.
• Basic hydraulic and pneumatic experience, including pump work and hydraulic cylinder rebuilds.
• MIG welding at minimum. MIG and stick together is preferred.
• Your own basic hand tools. Specialty tools are provided.
• Ability to work 3rd shift Monday through Friday plus most Saturdays.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

NICE TO HAVE

• Intermediate-level (4–7 years, limited direction) electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or welding experience.
• Experience with VFDs, servos, I/O modules, sensors, wiring, cabinet troubleshooting, or work over 480V.
• Exposure to HMIs, robots, or CNC equipment.
• Background in corrugated, packaging, or pulp and paper.
• Current arc flash certification. You'll also complete this site's arc flash certification.
• A technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.

PAY AND BENEFITS

• $32.70/hr (B level) to $36.97/hr (A level), based on skills and experience, plus a $0.50/hr shift premium.
• 1.5x pay over 8 hours in a day and over 40 hours in a week, with weekend and holiday premiums.

SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. Most Saturdays are expected, averaging about 10 hours of overtime per week.
• 90-day probationary period, with HR staying hands-on during that window to make sure your benefits are taken care of.
• On your feet and moving for about 90% of the shift, with regular lifting, carrying, and pulling in the 21–50 lb range.
• Frequent ladder and scaffold work, plus bending, squatting, and kneeling.
• Walking surfaces can be slippery, narrow, vibrating, unsteady, or moving.
• Required PPE: safety shoes, safety eyewear, and hearing protection.
• Non-union facility.
