Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving a wide variety of production equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, enjoys solving complex equipment issues, and is committed to maximizing equipment uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related equipment failures.
- Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled machinery (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms preferred).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Replace and repair motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, conveyors, belts, chains, valves, and power transmission components.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting including VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, motors, and control circuits.
- Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new production equipment.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and machining repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical degree or Industrial Maintenance certification preferred.
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
Experience with:- PLC-controlled equipment
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Motors, drives, gearboxes, conveyors
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Electrical controls (24VDC–480VAC)
- Preventative maintenance programs
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience using precision measuring tools and common maintenance equipment.
Basic welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Allen-Bradley PLC troubleshooting
- Siemens PLC troubleshooting
- Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or Yaskawa robotics
- Servo motors and motion control systems
- Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet)
- CMMS software (Fiix, SAP PM, MP2, Maximo, etc.)
- Food, automotive, packaging, plastics, metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing experience
