THE OPPORTUNITY

Pro Services Workforce Solutions has partnered with a leading food, beverage, and specialty packaging manufacturer to fill this contract opportunity for a Maintenance Tech II at their Corsicana, TX facility.

You'll be a Pro Services employee working onsite as part of the customer's shift maintenance team. This is a 24/7 operation with a very reactive, fast-paced environment, and electrical needs to be your strongest skill set. If you can troubleshoot from the cabinet to the PLC and still handle the mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic side of a line, this role is built for you.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our customer is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging. They serve a wide range of industries, including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery and retail, and industrial markets.

The Corsicana plant runs around the clock on extrusion and packaging equipment. Maintenance is organized into four crews, and each crew is built to balance mechanical, electrical, and controls skills, with a strong lead on every crew. The team is dedicated to the success of the facility and works hard to keep it running.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You're a technically strong tech who is comfortable being the one people call when a line goes down. Electrical and controls are where you shine, and you don't stop at the cabinet. You're the kind of tech who grabs the laptop and works through the ladder to find the real problem. A fast pace doesn't rattle you. You stay focused, work the problem, and get the equipment back up safely.

You know what a rotating 12-hour schedule looks like, and you're ready to commit to it for the long haul. You fit into a crew where everyone brings a different strength. You share what you know, back up your teammates, and take pride in keeping the plant running. Most of all, you live our core values of Safety, Integrity, Pride, and Teamwork every shift.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Respond to breakdowns and keep production running in a very reactive, fast-paced 24/7 environment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems from 0–24V control voltage through 110–240V single phase and 480V three phase, using your meter, schematics, and cabinet troubleshooting skills to find the fault.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, servos, VFDs, transformers, relays, I/O modules, wiring, and sensors.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs at the hardware level, starting with the input and output modules, and connect a laptop to review the ladder logic to track down the problem.
  • Use HMIs to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Work on hydraulic systems on extrusion equipment, including pumps, valves, and pressure sensors, and swap out hydraulic cylinders with pre-rebuilt replacements.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, mostly cylinder-based, on packaging equipment.
  • Inspect, service, and replace bearings and gearboxes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and plant safety procedures on every job.
  • Pick up PM work Monday through Friday when it's offered, which is scheduled 1–2 weeks in advance.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with the ability to work with limited direction.
  • Intermediate electrical skills as your strongest area. This includes control voltage, single phase, and 480V three phase, confident meter use, cabinet troubleshooting, and reading diagrams and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with motors, servos, VFDs, transformers, relays, I/O modules, wiring, and sensors.
  • PLC troubleshooting at both the hardware and software level, including getting into the program on a laptop to review ladder logic.
  • Experience using HMIs.
  • Intermediate mechanical skills, including bearings and gearboxes.
  • Intermediate hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • GMP experience.
  • Ability to work a 2-2-3 schedule on 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights every two weeks, including every other weekend.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Advanced electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic experience.
  • PLC programming experience.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, ABB, or Mitsubishi equipment, and Logix 5000 or Studio 5000 software.
  • Hydraulic accumulator experience.
  • Robot troubleshooting experience.
  • Mechanical rebuilds, reading mechanical diagrams, and working on shafts and seals.
  • Experience with conveyor systems or corrugated systems.
  • Experience with positive displacement, air diaphragm, or centrifugal pumps.

TRAINING AND ONBOARDING

  • Day 1 starts with plant training, and then you'll move into the maintenance department.
  • You'll spend your first 3–4 weeks on day shift, paired with the senior core technicians.
  • You'll learn the CMMS system, how to find spare parts, where everything is in the plant, and the equipment you'll be supporting.
  • Safety is a big focus throughout onboarding.

PAY, BENEFITS AND SCHEDULE

Pro Services recently became an employee-owned company (ESOP), and as a Pro Services employee, you'll receive:

  • $34 – $38/hr based on experience, paid weekly.
  • Pro covers 100% of medical insurance premiums starting on Day 1 for single and family plans.
  • Vision and dental insurance.
  • Matching 401(k).
  • Vacation and holiday pay.
  • 2-2-3 schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, rotating between days and nights every two weeks. Every other weekend you'll work three days, and the opposite weekend you'll have three days off.
  • Overtime is available but not standard. It's usually for vacation coverage, call-offs, or weekday PM work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Lifting, carrying, and pulling in the 21–50 lb range, and pushing up to 51–100 lbs, for less than a third of the shift.
  • About 80% of the shift is spent standing. The job also involves frequent squatting, kneeling, crouching, and bending, plus crawling, stairs, ramps, and ladder or scaffold work.
  • Floors and work surfaces may be wet, slippery, narrow, vibrating, unsteady, moving, or irregular.
  • Normal vision is required, including color vision, depth perception, and field of vision.
  • Non-union facility.
