Maintenance Supervisor: Freeport, Illinois

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support a team of maintenance technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, plant safety, and continuous improvement while actively supporting production goals. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both technical expertise and strong people management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, schedule, and distribute maintenance workload across all shifts

• Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance

• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during downtime

• Coach and mentor technicians on safe work practices

• Monitor performance, provide feedback, and assist with employee development

• Support maintenance planning by identifying parts needs and assisting with work order planning

• Ensure compliance with all plant safety standards and housekeeping expectations

• Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and troubleshooting work

• Assist with annual performance evaluations and departmental initiatives

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement culture

Skills & Experience:

• **Education

  **: High School Diploma, required. Associate’s degree, apprenticeship program, or technical school, strongly preferred

• **Experience

  **: Minimum of 5+ years in Industrial Maintenance, required

• **Software:

  **Intermediate computer skills

• **Expertise:

  ** Strong math, mechanical, electrical, and leadership skills

• **Physical Requirements:

  ** Standing, walking, or bending for 90% of each shift and manual lifting up to 50 pounds

Pay:

$80,000 - $100,000/year, based on experience and capabilities

Type:

1st Shift, Full-time, onsite (no hybrid or WFH)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., On-call, AND work one Saturday every 3rd weekend
