Required Skills:

o Mechanical systems
o Basic industrial electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical failures

• Must supply basic hand tools
• Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Welding and metal fabrication experience
• Experience in a sawmill, lumber, or heavy industrial setting
• Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and production equipment
• Lockout/tagout procedure experience
Description of position and duties/responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Lead Millwright:
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Install, maintain, and repair sawmill machinery and production equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns quickly and safely
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Work closely with operations to keep the mill running efficiently
• Follow all safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices

PHYSICAL WORK DEMANDS:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical industrial
plant environment. The Millwright is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Noise levels can be moderate to high. Frequently lift and move heavy machinery parts,
tools, and materials up to 50 pounds. Exposure to outside temperatures, weather
conditions, wood waste/dust, and ash exposure. The Millwright is often required to stand,
walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and the
ability to work in tight spaces, confined areas, and awkward positions to access and repair
machinery, requiring flexibility and a tolerance for uncomfortable work environments.
Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Performs weekly preventative maintenance required.
• Assists in the weekly work order list of repairs and fabrication of equipment.
• Assists in troubleshooting, resetting, and repairing plant machine systems.
• Active, hands-on involvement in maintenance, critical repairs, and major upgrade
projects.
• Works closely with plant/mill personnel to assist in any active maintenance needs.
• Able to provide and procure the required tools needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Works with all construction contractors during major upgrades and maintenance.
• Responsible for keeping inventory on hand and requesting parts and materials necessary
to complete all job duties.
• Ability to work flexible hours and schedule if needed
• Assists in construction projects as needed
• Alert supervisors of unsafe or incorrect operating procedures that can decrease equipment
life or have the potential to injure operators.
• Performs other duties as required.
